These routine visits include removing plaque, tartar and stains from a patient’s teeth, and assist in controlling an abundance of oral bacteria. 7th Street Dental uses an intra-oral camera to take photos of the inside of the mouth. Not only is it helpful in diagnosing dental disease, but in tracking a patient’s progress as well. We can take before-and-after photos, along with performing other routine tests, to determine if a treatment is working or if a different type of treatment is needed.
Digital dental x-rays, or radiographs, allow Dr. Starr and his team to evaluate a patient’s overall oral health. Digital dental x-rays help our providers to see cavities between teeth, decay below fillings and crowns, alignment issues, oral cysts, oral tumors, dental abscesses and bone loss due to periodontal disease. Radiographs are important because they allow a full assessment of a tooth’s roots, jaw placement and facial bone composition.
Not only do we offer digital x-rays, but Cone Beam 3D Imaging is also available to our patients. With 3D Imaging, our providers can catch dental problems sooner than with traditional dental imaging alone because it allows us to view your teeth, roots, airways and sinuses in less than ten seconds.
With regular dental hygiene visits, imaging and oral examinations it allows for early intervention of oral health problems which could become a more complicated diagnosis if left untreated.
